Historical and hysterical in equal measure, this is Waiting for Godot meets Blackadder III. European Arts Company present this brilliant black comedy by Emmy award-winning writer Ron Hutchinson.
It is the winter of 1819. The most famous wit and dandy of them all, Beau Brummell, is preparing to receive the Prince of Wales. But this is not Bath or Brighton or any of the fashionable watering holes where he once held court to regency swells. The Beau now lives in a madhouse in Calais with his luckless valet, determined as ever to relive past glories.
'Beau Brummell is back and you can't take your eyes off him. He sticks in your mind and haunts you twelve hours later with the image of senile defiance, remembered grace and crazy nobility.' Libby Purves, Theatre Cat
'Ron Hutchinson's amusing play about the legendary dandy is a witty, Wildean Waiting for Godot’ Evening Standard
